2 jump rings (metal rings used in making jewelry)
Ribbon, cut into two pieces, 10 inches each
Jewelry wire, cut into two pieces, 8 inches and 10 inches
Two types of beads, one large and one small, in colors and shapes that coordinate
Crimp beads
Small jewelry pliers (or crimping pliers)
Scissors
Instructions:
1. Take the 8-inch piece of jewelry wire and insert a crimp bead onto one end. Insert the wire through the jump ring and back through the crimp bead (see inset 1).
2. Using pliers or crimping pliers, crimp the bead to secure the wire to the jump bead (see inset 2).
3. Insert a crimp bead onto the same wire and secure approximately 11/2 inches from the previous crimp bead.
4. Insert a bead and then another crimp bead. Secure the crimp bead using the pliers as close to the bead as possible (see inset 3).
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4, placing each bead approximately 11/2 inches apart. Insert a total of five beads.
6. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to finish the strand.
7. Repeat the same steps for the 10-inch wire. Increase the total number of beads by 1 and the width by 13/4 inches.
8. Attach one piece of ribbon to each pair of jump rings (see inset 4). To wear, simply tie ribbon into a bow around neck.
