Seashells Jewelry Making

It doesn't take a lot of money to create beautiful pieces of jewelry; all it takes is a little bit of creativity and an eye for beauty. If you want to make seashell jewelry, you need a few pretty seashells and some basic jewelry-making tools. In a short time, you can make seashell jewelry that will really turn heads. Read on to learn how.

Step 1

Select the shells that you want to work with. When you start to make seashell jewelry, you need to have quite a few different shells in mind. Some will be harder to work with than others, so choose the pieces that are the sturdiest. You should have a few spares in case you break a few.

Step 2

Think about your design. When you're making seashell jewelry, you should have a rough idea of what you want to create in your mind. Think about the colors of the beads you'll use, as well as the order in which the items will go onto the string. You can choose a few big shells surrounded by smaller ones, or vice versa.

Step 3

Drill holes in your shells. The next step is the most difficult, so take your time. Using the smallest drill bit possible, drill a small hole in your shells just large enough to fit your fishing line through. For delicate shells, you can do this using a needle instead.

Step 4

Begin to assemble your necklace. Start by attaching the clasp to one end of your fishing line to serve as your end point. Then layer the shells and beads on according to your own design. Add on the second half of the clasp on the other end to complete your piece.
